"If you learn the concepts, you can develop your own methods..."

Ninth grade Math teacher Viren Mehta's words inspired Chandrahas Halai, who had used them as his guiding principle to all that he does, including the writing of this book on Vedic Mathematics for beginners.

With a strong foundation of those concepts that he learned, Halai has shown in clear and simple steps that Vedic Math is not rocket science; in fact, it can be great fun! Using (simple) algebraic proofs, the author has explained the (Vedic Mathematics methods for) multiplication, division, squaring and cubing. The book has been divided into three sections and Halai suggests going through each one carefully, not skipping any of the steps detailed.

Aimed at students of grade 8 and above, and a good resource for teachers and parents too, as well as those training to take competitive exams, this volume is a novel way to discover that maths in general and algebra in particular can be great fun!
Review:
Vedic mathematics inside out is a gem for students, a good guide for professionals and businessmen as well.Author Chandrahas Halai book is a definitive book on vedic mathematics which covers all the generic areas.Book helped me a lot in improving speed and accuracy.Author took this to a very next level maintaining simplicity in his communication with the readers, explaining multiplication, division , squaring and cubing through examples. This book shows a collection of tricks.Book is divided into three sections. Section 1. Multiplication, which is again sub divided into 5 chapters.Section 2 is division which is sub divided into 2 chapters and section 3 miscellaneous and has only one chapter. A total of 8 chapetrs.A very well written book.If mathematics always turn you off, take a  chance on this book.Highly Recommend!!

Ravi Bhalerao is a top of the rung business strategy consultant struggling with two disquiets in life – a festering career disillusionment and a festering wound in his posterior. Stung by an unfair performance appraisal, he pulls off an outrageous stunt at his workplace, drops off the urban map and reaches his ancestral land, a village in drought-prone Vidarbha. There he encounters India in its elemental form. Convinced that his destiny is somehow entwined with that of his country, he sets off on a truth-seeking mission. On that mission, he finds love, revolution and most importantly, a redemption for the disquiet in his rear.

Anand is a former physicist on a spiritual quest through esoteric India. He realizes that the path to realization is beset on all sides by gurus, their cults and their boundless quirks. As he hops from one ashram to the other, he grows convinced that liberation does not come with a user manual in a neat little box.

Wrapped in light-hearted, almost tongue-in-cheek prose, 'Mango People In Banana Republic' is a tale of an Indian’s search for personal identity, against the backdrop of a country divided along fault lines of countless social identities. Teeming with a cast of characters and ideas that encapsulate modern India, the tale ascends from the gross to the sublime, much like the Kundalini powers some aspire to acquire. With a steady pace, and gentle mocking humour, this book is an absorbing read and a laugh.
Review:
Book is honest and witty with doses of sarcasm and humour. I must admit that the tone and language and flow was entertaining. This book can light easy and inspiring read but it can also be contemplated for the depth of its topic and experiences. Excellent writing style. The Book revolves around its central character Ravi Bhalerao. The book has everything Corporate world wgere Ravi works as business strategy consultant, political world -drought prone state and Naxals blood bath.Spiritual world -path of realization through spiritual guru and their cults.Book is all about Mango people (Aam Admi) and their struggle.A book for boring summer afternoon.

Cricket's Most Magnificent Bowling Spells

Spell-binding Spells is a book for everyone who loves cricket. It is about stunning spells-those few overs that occur rarely in cricket, when bowlers weave magic and batsmen are mesmerized.

What did the stunning bowling spells of Anil Kumble, Narendra Hirwani, Ravichandran Ashwin, Padmakar Shivalkar, and Yuzvendra Chahal achieve that Kapil Dev's career best spell could not?

Curtly Ambrose and Sarfraz Nawaz, 14-years apart, bowled identical deadly spells against the same opposition taking 7 wickets for 1 run. Who were the hapless victims?

Why did Gary Gilmour of Australia with an ODI bowling average of 10.31 and Clarrie Grimmett of Australia after taking 13 wickets in a Test in two magnificent spells, never play for their respective countries again?

Spell-binding Spells looks at 50 of the most magnificent bowling spells in the history of cricket and answers some of these questions.

VVS Laxman says: "This book is a tribute to bowlers, a breed that has never profited from the benefit of the doubt in a sport whose rules have historically always favoured batsmen. This nice little treatise is a reminder that we must ensure that the history of this game continues to get passed on from one generation to the next."
